Show # 31 of The "WGTWDW" Podcast

Hello and welcome to show # 31!  On this show we take a break from the conversation and spend some time with sounds from the parks.  We've done this kind of show before and I personally love to listen to these kind of shows.  I'm a Disney Geek to the core, so even hearing sounds from the parks gets me really happy.

On other Disney Podcasts that do this I love to listen, figure out where the clip is from and then see if I get any memory responses from when we did or saw what we were listening to.  As we do shows like this down the road, consider them a tribute to Paul and the Window To the Magic Podcast.  He owns this idea with is Disneyland park walkthroughs, Awesome

I mentioned on the show that these audio clips came from video, so below are the video segements I got these from.  There out of order and I might have missed one or two, but most of the are there.

Thanks again to Jim and Kim over at Once Upon at Time Travel, contact them when making plans for your next trip.
And for Quinn, Hope, George and Ed, thanks for listening.  Email us at WGTWDW@gmail.com  and go to Itunes and give us a review.  And, we're up on Facebook.  Stop by and give us a LIKE!  Enjoy the videos!

We took this first video a while back, but it's still great.  Sam the Eagle is so straight and get's taken by Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat, Classic!

The next clip is Yehaa Bob Jackson who performs over at the River Roost at the Port Orleans Riverside Hotel.  This is a great show and if you ever have the chance, please go.  I've gone three times in the last 4 trips. It's a great place to Meet up with friends!

This is the Animal Kingdom Parade.  As I mentioned on the show, we're not Parade people anymore now that the kids are older.  But as we were walking along a Cast member was cutting off the walk-way to set-up for the parade.  Well, since we were there, we watched the parade.  Very fun!

Here is part of the Captain jack Tutorial.  I actually had put two different videos together to give you more of a taste of the show.

And now the Nemo clip.  This is such a great show, as a father the message really hits home to me.  This is a broadway quality show.  We've seen it every time we've been in AK.  Very cool to see the same actors as we go back doing different parts.

In this next clip, these guys are great.  If I could only play an instrument like these guys can. It's always worth a couple minutes to stop and watch a couple of songs.

And the last clip for today, is of course, Wishes.  We love this fireworks show.  I've watched my kids grow up from them sleeping through it, to the ear plugs and hugs to get them through it.  Now there telling us where to watch from.  Priceless!

The "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast Show # 14

On this weeks show the Kids take over and give a synopsis of our recent WDW trip.  They go over what we did in general each day and talk about some of the high-lights.  The trip was great and as you can see from my last post, a cross over interest fest in that Eli Manning was there after the Giants win.  We had great weatehr and a great time.  Also, on this weeks show, com along on Mission Space with us.  Don't worry, we went on the Green side.

Don't forget to tell us what you think of the show.  Email us at WGTWDW@gmail.com

MVP QuarterBack at the Magic Kingdom

We had a great vacation down at WDW and have only gotten back a week ago tomorrow.  We were actually in the Magic Kingdom getting ready to experience one of the biggest coincidences of our Disney lifetime.  Let's backtrack a little bit.  The first time we knew we were going to WDW was in early January.  So we had about 4 weeks to plan out our 5 night trip.  Pretty quick for us.  One of the first things we looked at was what days for what parks.  We decided, early on to go Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and then MK for the last day of the trip.  At this point the NY Giants were in the play-offs after barely making it in and were predicted to lose in the first round of the play-offs.
Well the Giants made it to the Superbowl and we then realized that we'd be watching the game down in WDW. If it had been any other team, I think we would have opted for the parks.  (Except for the Eagles.  There you go Quinn, an Eagles mention.) So with that in mind DHS still worked out for the Super Bowl.  It closed at 7:00, we'd just ditch out early and watch the game at POR.  They had the Roost set up for the game and they also had their big screen movie set-up showing the game.  We happened to watch the game in the room.  We were checking out the the next morning so all watched the game in there together.  It was a real good family time.  We hit the hotel rest. at half time and came back to watch the second half.  We saw some of the half-time show.  Great to see the need to flip-the-bird when on stage???  The end of the game was great and as we are the "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast, it was great to hear those words coming out of Eli Manning's mouth.  We had no idea what Monday could mean yet.  After-all, there is no way they'll be able to get the Super Bowl MVP down to Orlando.  I think that after-all thought made me just think that the MK parade would be later in the week.
The next day early on we started hearing rumors for a 1:20 parade for Eli starting at the firehouse and going towards the castle.  Okay, we'll modify plans.  Next CM rumor was still at 1:20 but now starting by Splash mountain and going towards Main Street.  Okay, modify where we'll be around then.  Just as we started across the bridge to Liberty Square to get down to where the parade would begin I asked another, more official looking CM about the parade start.  Well happy to say this CM said it would start right where we were standing.  We backed off the bridge to the hub and stood right as the road from Liberty Square comes out to the Hub.  We would be the first people that Eli would see to his left as the Vette he was in began it's drive.  We stood in Parade like MK crowds for about 35 minutes.  Eli came from the Crystal Palace area and walked across the lawn to where the car and parade people were set up.  He was miked up and got up in the car with Football Mickey.  They shared a few words which was funny to see, but when you see the official park video, you'll see what was said and how it was appropriate and scripted.  Disney Parks Blog Eli Link The parade started and that was the best 2 minute parade we had ever seen.  Once he passed us it was impossible to follow due to the gi-normous crowds so we went back to the park with that little glow of seeing one of those few people when given an opportunity took advantage of it.  We all agreed he was there for the parade and would soon be on a plane to NY for the next days real celebration parade.
We had such a fun day and this parade only added to it.  The Disney CM's really have the routine down for these kind of events.   Go Giants!

The "WGTWDW" Podcast Show # 10

This week we celebrate our 10th show with a long(for us) conversation about the Disney Cruise we took this past June.  We actually talk so much we needed to cut this show into two parts.  This week we talk about the pre-cruise activities with Magnets and Fish Extenders.  We then get on the boat and talk about the room, shows, the restaurants and more.  We're saving Castaway Cay, Nassau and anything we missed for our next show.
Here are a couple picturs of the magnets and the Fish Extender.  It's hanging on the right side of the door.  We were having so much fun on this cruise, we never actaully took a picture of the door we spent so much time creating.  A friend on the BOGP Forums who was on the trip took this for us.  We ate at the Animators Palate the first night and it was a fun meal with Crush.  We saw all of the shows the cruise had to offer and had such a great time.  Hear all about it and maybe pick up some tips on this weeks show.
Thanks for Listening!

The "WGTWDW" Podcast Show # 9

On this weeks show we switch it up a little due to the heavy schedule that the kids had this week.  From Basketball to Swim Team and School and CCD and a Boy Scout Camping trip had us all very busy this week.  In the show we post some audio clips from the last couple of times we've been down in WDW.  Here are some of the video links for those to give you the added visual along with the audio on the show.  The first clip was the Voices of Liberty over at the American Experience at Epcot.  A must see group.  The next clip we have is from the Adventures Club's Live Radio show.  This was a really great night and a little sad as it was the last time I was there before it closed.  Next we had the Jamminators from Epcot.  These are the most common looking guys.  You might even walk past them without noticing, until they start playing.  They were really good.  After that we visit the Magic Kingdom at Rope Drop.  This is one of our favorite times of the day.  Getting to the park early and watching this show is a great start to a fun day.  We then finish up with the Main Street Philharmonic.  You should have heard how many times I kept saying the Main Street Philharmagic.  We love these guyus and will almost always stop and watch.  They are one happy bunch of guys.

Thanks for listening to the show this week.  We promise to be back next week with a fully staffed show to talk all about our Disney Cruise from this past June

The "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast Show # 8

On this weeks show we spin the Wheel of Attractions and landed on Dino Sue.  We sounded a little unsure during the show, but I was right.  Dino Sue is the T-Rex loacted along the pathway leading to the Dinosaur attraction.  Here she is, Dino Sue.  You never know where the wheel will stop.  We then talk about Disney Character interactions at WDW.  From Character Meals to getting autographs from the characters themselves.  It might not have come across clear in the show, but the autograph books we made for the kids are in my eyes, incredible.  Not for the look of it, they are pretty simple, but for putting the picture with the autograph.  Here are a couple of samples.  The quailty is a little off, but you can get the idea.  The middle picture was Quinn at Chef Mickey's and the first picture in the book.  Minnie is signing the book in the picture. He was 4 1/2 years old and that was 2002.  I just realized that we have had these books for almost a decade.  The right picture was from Crystal Palace.

And in the Disney-Net-Check I talk about our different locations on the internet.  Of course this blog and our Podbean account.  We also have a channel on Youtube with almost 50 videos of our WDW trips.  And you can follow me on Twitter @EdMaz.  Our email address is WGTWDW@gmail.com.  Thanks for listening and see you next week.

The "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast Show #6

From now on I thought I would set-up a much more detailed version of the Show Notes, here in my blog.  Podbean has a lot to be desired about their posting software.

On this weeks show of the “We’re Going to Walt Disney World” podcast we once again spin the Wheel of Attractions.  The kids have a lot to say about Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride.  I don’t get it, the spinning and all, but the kids seem to really like it.

We then talk about pressed pennies in the Family Tip segment.  Pressed penny machines can be found through-out all of WDW.  We talk about this fun activity that we have been doing for years.  One of the great finds I came up with about pressed pennies was finding the www.Presscoins.com web site.  Right now, we’ve got three full books of pressed WDW pennies and are beginning another.  Hope mentioned the book with the Mickey head shaped penny.  Here it is and here is the inside of it.  This book has the Epcot Country series of pennies we discussed on the show.  Some trips, it's like we'll press pennies if we see a machine.  Other trips, it's a mission.  We talk about more on the show.

For the Disney Net-Check, our 60 second look at really good Disney themed web sites, I talk about Steve Soares’ Walt Disney WorldEntertainment web site.  This is a really nice site that is updated every week with every live event at the WDW resort.  We always hit this site the week before a trip.  You can get times for everything from Streetmosphere to the Dapper Dan’s to when is the Mad Hatter signing autographs.  A very good information site.  Enjoy.

To finish show number 6, we announce our FIRST CONTEST!.  Simple rules, email us at WGTWDW@Gmail.com with any two of the attractions we have discussed in the Wheel of Attractions segment we have done.  Once we hit the cut-off on Sat., Nov. 5th at 5:00 pm WDW time we will throw all contestants into a hat and pick two winners.  The first winner pulled will get a great Splash Mountain pin and a pressed penny chosen by the kids.  The second winner pulled will get a Sleepy Dwarf in a Box, Cast Member pin.  So send in your emails.

You can find the "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast on Itunes and on Podbean.

The "We're Going to Walt Disney World" Podcast Show # 5

This week we celebrate Halloween with couple of audio clips from the Magic Kingdom.  What says Trick or Treat better than Stich in Stiches Great Escape.  The second clip is our own Ghost Hunter investigation.  The rumour goes that if you stay in the stretching room after most have left you might hear some strange voices.  I think we did.  Listen along and hear what you can hear with our recording from the Haunted Mansions Stretching room.

Happy Halloween
